First single by Brisbane (Australia) band Solid Citizens. Recorded at the UK Manor Studios in 1984 by Mike Shipley (The Cars, Def Leppard, AC/DC, Nickleback, Shania Twain, Joni Mitchell, Green Day etc) and Mark Goldenberg (Pointer Sisters, Chicago), Solid Citizens were Mick Walker and Glen Muirhead. "Singing in the Shower" was written by Walker, Muirhead, John Barnes and published by Gilbey/MCA. A version of the song, sung by Deborah Conway, featured in the ABC television series, "Sweet and Sour", and Noni Hazelhurst covered the song on her album "Shouts and Wispers". Solid Citizens, featuring friends Geoff Lungren on bass and Steve Fernly on drums, performed the song on ABC's "Countdown" - Australia's premier video show on 16 December 1984 co-hosted by Molly Meldrum and Tina Turner. Tina Turner's band loved the band 'suits' which featured screen printed authentic newspaper articles about 'solid citizens' who had deviated and been caught out.
