Jesus would challenge citizen concerning how they used their money.
One day we will all have no money. Once our life on earth is over, we will not possess a particular penny. The view of that might alarm some folks. After we die we will be penniless. That is what Jesus Christ teaches.
On that day how many friends will we have? On that day will we possess true riches?
These are relevant questions - maybe more relevant than some might wish to admit.
A rich man hired a manager, or factor, to look after his affairs. It was brought to the rich man's concentration that the boss was squandering the money. He was on the make -fiddling the books.
Corruption is not new, although it appears to be escalating and is unquestionably hitting the headlines.
Jesus was aware that citizen were diddling others, and He brought it into the open. That might alarm some folks too. One day all things is going to be brought out into the open - whether we want it to, or not - whether we think it is a good thing, or not. Nothing will remain hidden.
Making friends is more prominent than production money. citizen are far more prominent than things.
The time to come matters more than the present, and God gives us time to reconsider our priorities.
Priorities and family and friends and money are all important. But do we always get the order right?
